Friends of School

The Ridge Friends of School Association

The Ridge is very fortunate in having a thriving and very supportive Friends of School Association, which organises a wide range of social, and fundraising events throughout the year.

The Friends of Ridge School (FOS) is the parent teacher Association of the Ridge Junior School and when children join the school their parents/carers automatically become members. The FOS is a group of parents who, with the help of teachers and staff, organise a wide range of social, and fundraising events throughout the year.

The FOS are not only able to raise money for different projects but bring together the children, parents and staff working as a team to support the school and provide a great experience for all.

Last year was a great success. Usual events have been as popular as ever (disco/tombola, mother’s day sale, cake sales, lolly sale, summer fayre…) and children took part in new events which they enjoyed too (craft workshops, Christmas cards, penny trail, father's day sale, film night, ...)

Thanks to last year fundraising the children now have:

  • A new library in the process of being installed
  • Water play equipment
  • Monkey bars and high bars
  • 3 tepees
  • 2 basketball posts
  • 3D printer and cartridges
  • A lot of wet play games for the classrooms
  • More books for the library

And they have experienced:

  • Chicks in school
  • Wow day with climbing wall
  • Ice cream van in school
  • Dinosaur visit
